The short answer
Take Profit Trader is a futures firm selling one product: a monthly subscription, $150 to $360 depending on the account size, which you keep paying until you pass or cancel.
To pass you need 6% profit, three trading days, and no single day worth more than half your total profit. There is no time limit. There is no daily loss limit. What ends accounts here is the trailing drawdown, $1,500 on a $25,000 account up to $4,500 on $150,000. Passing costs a one-off $130.
Once you are funded you keep 80%, and you can ask for your money on any trading day. There is no cycle and no waiting period. What you can take at the full rate waits on the buffer, and profit still inside it comes out only after the account has closed, at 50% if that happens within 60 trading days. The best traders may be invited to PRO+, a live account routed to the exchange.
The thing to know before you buy is that the drawdown changes when you get funded, and nothing on the account tells you it has. In the test it is measured only at the close. On a funded account the same dollar figure is measured while you trade, and it counts profit you have not banked yet, so a trade that goes your way and comes back can end an account that would have passed the test.
How it works
Take Profit Trader sells one futures test in five sizes. Pass it and you move to a funded PRO account, which is simulated. Take Profit Trader may later invite you to PRO+, a live account. The table shows what each size asks for and allows.
| Account size | Profit target | Drawdown | Max contracts | Balance for full-rate payouts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25,000 | $1,500 | $1,500 | 3 | $26,500 |
| $50,000 | $3,000 | $2,000 | 6 | $52,000 |
| $75,000 | $4,500 | $2,500 | 9 | $77,500 |
| $100,000 | $6,000 | $3,000 | 12 | $103,000 |
| $150,000 | $9,000 | $4,500 | 15 | $154,500 |
- The target is 6% of the balance at every size.
- You need at least three trading days, with no time limit.
- The firm’s pricing page and help center publish these rules, and they agree.
- Take Profit Trader publishes its own pass rate: 36.22% of Trading Tests taken in calendar 2025 were passed.
How much does Take Profit Trader cost?
Take Profit Trader sells one product in five sizes, billed monthly on the same calendar day until you pass or cancel. Passing adds a one-off activation fee. A failed test can be restarted for a reset fee instead of a new subscription. Those three numbers are the list price, and they are set out below. Take Profit Trader also advertises a code, NOFEE40, for 40% off the monthly fee for the life of the test and no activation fee on that account.
| Account | Each month | To activate on passing | Test reset |
|---|---|---|---|
| $25,000 | $150 | $130 | $79 |
| $50,000 | $170 | $130 | $99 |
| $75,000 | $245 | $130 | $139 |
| $100,000 | $330 | $130 | $169 |
| $150,000 | $360 | $130 | $199 |
The monthly billing is the part that catches people. Pass a $50,000 test in your first month and you have paid $300. Take four months and the same pass costs $810. Breaking a rule does not stop the subscription; you have to cancel it yourself. Passing cancels it for you.
Three costs sit outside that table:
- Commission is $4.50 per contract, round trip, or $1.50 on micros, in the test and on PRO accounts.
- A funded PRO account can be reset up to three times, at $449 on $25K up to $1,499 on $150K.
- Some platforms cost extra. Five are free during the test: TradingView, NinjaTrader, Tradovate, R | Trader and Quantower. The rest carry their own vendor fees. You pay by card, PayPal or the built-in wallet.
Platforms and trading conditions
Take Profit Trader advertises “15+ available trading platforms”. Which ones you can use depends on the data feed you pick when you buy:
| Data feed | Platforms |
|---|---|
| CQG | TradingView, NinjaTrader, Tradovate |
| Rithmic | Bookmap, MultiCharts, MotiveWave, Trade Navigator, R | Trader, VolFix, ATAS, Investor/RT, Quantower, Finamark, Jigsaw daytradr |
- You trade futures from a published list of 38 symbols on CME, CBOT, COMEX and NYMEX. Crypto is available only as futures (MBT and MET).
- Max contracts scale with account size, from 3 at $25K to 15 at $150K, in the test and once funded.
The rules that matter
Take Profit Trader publishes its rules openly, and the one that matters most is easy to miss because the number stays the same. The sections below cover how the drawdown changes at funding, the removed daily loss limit, consistency, and the rules on news, bots and overnight positions.
The drawdown changes when you get funded
The drawdown is the same dollar amount at every stage, but how and when it is checked changes twice:
| Stage | How the drawdown is checked | Dollar figure |
|---|---|---|
| Test | At the end of the day, “not during open trades” | Unchanged |
| Funded, PRO | During the day, against peak balance “which includes realized gains and unrealized gains” | Unchanged |
| Funded, PRO+ | Back to end of day | Unchanged |
On a $100,000 account the drawdown is $3,000 at every stage. A position that runs $2,000 up and then $3,500 back within one session passes the test untouched and breaches a funded PRO account, on the same numbers.
The help center serves the PRO and PRO+ rules as two different articles at the same web address, and they are the two that disagree about the drawdown. Anyone reading the firm’s own help center should make sure they have both.
There is no daily loss limit any more
The firm has removed its daily loss limit. Its pricing page strikes it through and marks it “Removed”, so a daily loss figure for Take Profit Trader seen elsewhere is out of date.
The consistency rule delays you rather than failing you
Your biggest trading day must stay below 50% of your total net profit. Breaking this does not fail the account. It delays qualification until your total profit grows enough for that day to fall back under 50%. More trading days alone will not clear it; more profit will.
News, bots and overnight positions
These apply every day on top of the drawdown:
- Be flat around major news once funded. PRO and PRO+ accounts must have no open positions or orders from 1 minute before to 1 minute after FOMC statements, Non-Farm Payroll and CPI, plus crude oil inventories for crude and bond auctions for the 10-Year Note and 30-Year Bond.
- No bots or algorithms on any account, including the test. Trade copiers are allowed only between your own accounts, and only from Take Profit Trader’s approved list.
- No overnight positions. Open trades are closed automatically at 4:55 PM Eastern.
Getting paid: how does Take Profit Trader pay out?
You keep 80% of what you make on a funded PRO account. You can ask for it on any trading day: there is no payout cycle, no waiting period, and no number of trading days to serve first.
What decides whether asking is worth it is the buffer. Until your balance reaches your starting balance plus your drawdown, you cannot take money out at the full rate. That is $26,500 on a $25,000 account and $103,000 on a $100,000 one, with every size in the How it works table above.
- How fast money moves, on the firm’s published timings: on Tradovate PRO accounts, a withdrawal to your Take Profit Trader wallet takes seconds. Paying out from the wallet is reviewed within 12 business hours, then Plaid pays US banks in real time or within 1 to 2 business days, and Wise or PayPal within 12 business hours.
- Taking money from inside the buffer is only possible once the account has ended, at 50% if the account was open 60 trading days or less and 80% after that.
- Small payouts cost more: there is a $50 fee on payouts of $250 or less.
- No minimum payout is published. Take Profit Trader states none, which is not the same as knowing there is no floor.
The homepage says “day one withdrawable profits”. That is true of the mechanism: you can request a payout from day one, and the buffer decides when the money behind it is worth taking.
The live account
PRO accounts are simulated. PRO+ is Take Profit Trader’s live account, and the firm decides who gets one:
- It is by invitation only. The firm reviews consistency, risk management and execution over time, with no single threshold.
- Trades go to the exchange, not a simulation, at a 90% split with no buffer before withdrawals.
- $5,000 of your PRO profit is frozen while the PRO+ account is active. The PRO+ account starts at $0 with the same end-of-day drawdown your PRO account started with, which trails up until it reaches $0.
- If you lose PRO+, you keep its remaining profit and your share of the frozen $5,000, less any negative balance. PRO+ cannot be reset; you return by passing a new test or resetting a PRO account.
- You can hold up to five funded accounts, PRO and PRO+ together.
What can end your account
These rules can end a Take Profit Trader account or put it at risk. Each comes from the firm’s own knowledge base:
- Touching the drawdown during the day on a funded PRO account, including when an open trade is only down on paper.
- Using a bot or algorithm, on any account.
- Holding positions through prohibited news on PRO or PRO+.
- Holding opposite positions in your own accounts, or coordinating trades with other people. Unapproved trade copiers can mean lost profit, liquidation or a ban.
- Staying in a trade into a price limit. You must exit before the market hits a limit up or limit down, or lose the account.
- Not trading for a week. PRO+ accounts need at least one traded day each calendar week.
- Trading from a restricted country, including through a VPN.
Take Profit Trader also says it may “part ways” without notice with traders whose style relies on simulation fills or maximum size at predictable moments, such as the open or news.
Who can join
Take Profit Trader does not allow access from 119 jurisdictions, set in line with CME rules. Many are not sanctions cases a trader would expect, including Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia, Malta, Monaco, Turkey, South Africa, Morocco, Peru, the Philippines and Ukraine. Accessing an account from one of them, even to view market data or through a VPN, gets the account blocked.
Who you are dealing with
You contract with TakeProfitTrader LLC, named in the firm’s footer and body copy. The Terms point two ways at once. One section names a court:
“Furthermore, any action to enforce this User Agreement shall be brought in the federal or state courts located in Florida.”
- A separate section headed “Class Action Waiver and Arbitration Agreement” then has you “agree to arbitrate, on an individual basis, any claims or disputes” and waive any right to bring or join a class action. The Terms do not say which governs.
- A Florida court is easy for a US trader to reach and a long way from everyone else.
- The funded PRO agreement is sent only after you pass, so we have not read it. Everything here about the funded stage comes from the help center.
On 27 August 2026, Trustpilot showed 4.3 across 10,398 reviews. Note the shape: 12% one-star against 80% five-star, and a rating across more than ten thousand reviews has real volume behind it.
Why this grade
Take Profit Trader publishes its rules in full, and that is what its grade is built on. The dispute terms are not a point in its favor: the same document names Florida courts and compels individual arbitration with a class-action waiver, and does not say which applies.
What keeps it off an A is a rule that changes when you pass. During the evaluation your drawdown is checked once a day, after the close, and open trades don’t count against it. On a funded PRO account it is checked live, and it counts profit you haven’t banked yet. So a trade that goes deep into loss and recovers before the close will pass the evaluation and can breach the funded account. A trade that goes into profit is worse: it lifts your floor while it is still open, and giving that profit back can breach you even on a day you never went below where you started. The dollar figure is the same at both stages, so nothing on the account tells you the rule has changed. PRO+ accounts go back to the end-of-day version.
The funded trader agreement is a separate matter. It is sent only after you pass, so the binding terms of the funded stage are not something a buyer can read before paying. The 80% split and the PRO+ terms in this review come from the firm’s help center, not from that agreement. Neither its payouts nor its support has been tested yet, so the letter covers what its documents say and not how it behaves.

Our verdict
Take Profit Trader publishes more of its rules than most buyers will read, and the one that costs funded accounts is in there: the same drawdown figure is checked at the close during the test and during the day once you are funded.
Best for
- Traders who read help centers and want rules they can check before paying.
- Traders who need a wide choice of futures platforms.
- Traders aiming for a live account: PRO+ trades on the exchange at 90%.
Avoid if
- Your strategy dips deep during the day and recovers by the close. The funded PRO drawdown catches it.
- You expect to take longer than a month or two to pass. The fee repeats.
- You trade with bots. They are banned on every account.
