Prop firm verification: payouts, grades and evidence

Prop firm verification is the process of testing a claim against a defined source, product, stage and effective date. PFG separates operator statements from governing documents, independent records and completed desk tests. A verified field does not certify that a firm is legitimate, safe or certain to pay in the future. It states what the available evidence supports, and no more.

Verification remains field-specific. A verified legal entity does not establish its payout performance. A received transfer does not validate every published rule. A current policy may not explain an earlier dispute. Each conclusion keeps its own scope, provenance and time period so evidence from one question cannot silently answer another. This separation prevents a well-sourced field from lending false certainty to unrelated fields.

What PFG verifies

Each conclusion is scoped to the exact question and evidence on record.

Entity and documents

Which legal entity sells the product, which documents govern it, and which party owes each material obligation.

Product and rules

Which route, account tier and stage a rule covers, how it is calculated, and when the source took effect.

Payout and outcome

Whether an exact request was eligible, reviewed, approved, settled and received, with the evidence linked across the route.

Evidence tiers show what a source can support

An official rule can establish what an operator publishes. It cannot prove that the rule was applied to a particular account. A trader report can identify a possible outcome. It cannot establish the complete cause without the account record and governing terms. PFG keeps those evidence types separate instead of turning every source into the same verification badge.

Verified 0 records
Seen on an account bought with our own money, with the artefact on file. Reserved for a completed desk test.
Reported 191 records
Published by the firm in its own terms, help centre or pricing page, and re-read on every release.
Claimed 0 records
Asserted in marketing with no contractual source behind it. Recorded, never used to lift a grade.
Refused 0 records
We asked and the firm would not answer. Silence is a fact about a firm, so we publish it.

How evidence reaches a grade

  1. Define the firm, product, stage, jurisdiction and date covered by the claim.
  2. Collect the controlling source and preserve its wording, version and provenance.
  3. Classify what the source proves, what it only reports and what remains unknown.
  4. Reconcile material conflicts without replacing missing facts with assumptions.
  5. Apply the published methodology and have our team ratify the result. Until the firm’s payouts have been tested, the letter shows Preliminary beside it. A firm stays NR only until we have assessed it.
  6. Reassess the affected field when a later source, rule change or completed test changes the evidence.

36 firms are in the catalogue today. 36 of these grades are preliminary: the letters can move as verification of the records completes.

  • A 2 (6%)
  • B 8 (22%)
  • C 24 (67%)
  • D 2 (6%)
  • F 0 (0%)
  • NR 0 (0%)

The distribution is a live view of every letter we publish, and every one of them is Preliminary today. NR means the firm has not been assessed; it is not a failing grade. The rules behind these letters are set out in how we score each firm.

Inspect payout and grade-change records

Payout records

Completed payout records show the exact route and the limits of what that outcome establishes. One received transfer does not prove universal reliability.

Verification method

Read how PFG verifies payouts for the purchase-to-receipt chain and the limits of screenshots or transaction records.

Grade changes

Dated grade-change records show the affected firm-level reduction, its trigger and any later restoration supported by new evidence.

Unknown does not mean favorable or adverse

Read the evidence state before the conclusion

Unknown means the fact has not been established. Reported identifies a claim at its source. Refused records that requested evidence was not supplied. Conflict preserves material disagreement between sources until it is resolved.

Those labels do not decide an unseen fact. They show the limit of the conclusion a reader can draw. Known purchase terms, observed behavior and documented conflicts remain assessable even when another document or outcome is unavailable.

Freshness and corrections

A source is attached to an effective date and the product it governs. Later marketing does not rewrite an earlier contract, and an old successful outcome does not establish current performance. When material evidence changes, PFG updates the affected field and sends any grade change for ratification by our team.

A useful correction identifies the exact firm, product, stage and disputed statement. It should include the controlling source, source date, effective date and an explanation of what the source supports. Remove passwords, identity documents, account credentials and unrelated personal data before sharing evidence.

Prop firm verification FAQs

How does PFG verify a prop firm?

PFG scopes each claim, preserves its source and date, classifies the evidence, records conflicts and applies the published methodology before our team ratifies it.

What counts as verified evidence?

Evidence is verified only for the conclusion it can support. A governing document can verify a published term, while a linked desk test can verify an observed outcome.

Does verification mean a prop firm is legitimate?

No. PFG verifies specific fields and outcomes. It does not issue a blanket certificate of legitimacy, safety or future payment.

Can a prop firm lose its grade?

Yes. A material rule, contract, payout or evidence change can trigger reassessment and a newly ratified result.

What does NR mean?

NR means no ratified grade is displayed. It does not mean the firm failed the grading scale.
