PFG’s prop firm review editorial independence policy separates evidence and grading from commercial links. PFG may earn a commission when a reader follows an eligible link or completes an eligible action. That possibility does not change a firm’s evidence tier, grade, ranking position or published finding.
Three controls keep the lanes separate
A disclosure names the commercial relationship. The controls determine whether it can affect editorial work.
Evidence
Findings keep their source, scope, date and evidence tier whether or not a commercial relationship exists.
Method
Grades and order follow the published methodology, including evidence caps, unknowns and conflicts.
Accountability
Our team approves editorial judgments and stands behind any final grade.
Affiliate commissions do not set grades or order
An operator cannot buy a higher grade, a more favorable evidence label or the removal of a material finding. Affiliate availability is not evidence of product quality. The absence of an affiliate relationship is not evidence against a firm. If a ranking changes, the reason must come from the methodology, a material evidence update or the page’s stated qualification rules.
Commercial action follows the editorial conclusion
The firm identity, destination and approved commercial URL are managed separately from the evidence used to write or grade the review. Changing a destination does not rewrite the conclusion.
Paid placement and promotional requests
Paid placement does not enter the editorial ranking as an earned position. Promotional copy supplied by a firm remains the firm’s claim until an appropriate source or test supports a broader conclusion. A firm may point out an error, supply a contract or answer a question. It does not receive approval authority over PFG’s wording or verdict.
How an editorial conclusion is approved
- The exact firm, legal entity, product, market and stage are defined.
- Each material claim receives a source, date, scope and evidence tier.
- The published methodology determines caps, factors and ranking eligibility.
- Conflicts and non-mechanical judgments are escalated to our team.
- Commercial destinations are attached only after the editorial result is settled.
Conflicts, corrections and accountability
A personal, financial or operational conflict that could affect a judgment must be disclosed internally and escalated before approval. PFG does not hide a material contradiction merely because the operator is a partner or prospective partner.
Evidence-backed corrections are made when a source was misread, a fact was attached to the wrong route or later material evidence changes the conclusion. The correction should preserve the difference between an error and a later rule change. Changes to the grading system itself are logged in the method’s change history.
What readers should see on a commercial page
A commercial page should disclose that PFG may earn a commission, explain the evidence and ranking method, and keep unknown or conflicting information visible. Readers can review the evidence tiers and how grades are set separately from any outbound action.
