The short answer

Breakout sells one-step crypto evaluations for a one-time fee, and one choice cannot be undone: the split is 80/20 unless you buy the 90/10 upgrade at checkout, and it can never be added later. Passing does not fund you by itself. You apply to a separate company, Payward Oceanic, Ltd, pass an ID check and sign its agreement, and the funded account still trades simulated capital. Payouts come only in USDC on Ethereum, so you need a crypto wallet, and funded capital is capped at $200,000 across all your accounts.

How it works

Breakout has three one-step evaluations with no time limit, no minimum trading days and no consistency rule. The drawdown is static on all three. The table shows what each asks on a $100,000 account.

EvaluationProfit targetMaximum drawdownDaily lossSizes
1-Step Turbo$9,000 (9%)$3,000 (3%)3%$5,000 to $200,000
1-Step Pro$12,000 (12%)$5,000 (5%)3%$5,000 to $200,000
1-Step Classic$10,000 (10%)$6,000 (6%)3%$5,000 to $100,000
  • The maximum drawdown never moves. It is measured from the starting balance, so on a $100,000 Classic the floor stays at $94,000 however much you make.
  • The daily loss limit does move. It is 3% of your balance at 00:30 UTC each day, not counting open positions.
  • Pro costs less than Classic but asks the highest target of the three.
  • You pass the moment you hit the target, even in a single trade.
  • After passing, you complete an ID check with SumSub and sign a Funded Trader Agreement with Payward Oceanic, Ltd. Approval takes 12 to 24 hours.

How much does Breakout cost?

Breakout charges one fee per evaluation, with no subscription and no reset. The three lines are priced like this:

Account1-Step Turbo1-Step Pro1-Step Classic
$5,000$20$33$45
$10,000$40$65$85
$25,000$95$150$215
$50,000$180$280$400
$100,000$330$545$800
$200,000$660$1,090Not sold

Turbo is the cheapest at every size and Classic the dearest, and only Turbo and Pro sell $200,000. On top of whichever you pick, the 90/10 split upgrade adds 20%, and it has to be bought with the account.

Four more costs sit outside that table:

  • The fee is one-time, and there is no reset. A breached account ends, and trying again means buying a new evaluation.
  • The 90/10 split costs 20% more at every size, and it must be bought with the account. Decline it and that account stays on 80/20.
  • Breakout does not refund evaluation fees.

Clause 4 puts it in one sentence, and the exception it carves out is one a retail buyer will not have:

There are no refunds on any services purchased from Breakout, except to the extent expressly provided in a separate agreement between Breakout and you.

A separate agreement means a negotiated one. Buy the wrong plan and there is no contractual route back to your money: $20 at the bottom of the ladder, $1,090 on 1-Step Pro at $200,000.

  • Trading fees come out of your account balance: 0.04% on every order, plus a 0.033% daily swap on each position held at 00:00 UTC. You never pay them directly, but they reduce the balance your payout is calculated from.

You can pay by card, by cryptocurrency through third-party processors, or with an existing Breakout payout balance.

Platforms and trading conditions

New accounts trade only on the Breakout Terminal. DXtrade is closed to new purchases, though existing DXtrade accounts keep working and cannot be moved across.

  • You trade crypto plus four non-crypto instruments: XYZ100, S&P500, Crude Oil and Silver, which track those markets without owning anything.
  • Leverage is set per instrument: 10x on BTC, XYZ100 and S&P500, up to 5x on major coins, 5x on Crude Oil and Silver, and 2x or 3x on smaller coins.
  • Trading runs 24/7, and you can hold through weekends and trade the news.

The rules that matter

Breakout has only two loss limits, so the detail sits in how they interact and in the conduct rules behind them. Three things matter most.

The daily limit can equal your whole drawdown

On a $50,000 Turbo account the target is $4,500 and the drawdown is $1,500. The 3% daily limit is also $1,500, so on that plan one bad day can end the account. On Classic the same account has $3,000 of drawdown, which leaves room for about two full daily losses before the floor.

Requesting a payout widens the daily limit

When you request a payout, the amount leaves your balance at once and is added to that day’s loss allowance, so the payout does not trip the daily limit. The limit resets as normal at the next 00:30 UTC.

What Breakout bans

Breakout’s list goes well beyond the two limits:

  • Hedging across accounts, or coordinating opposite trades with another trader. Hedging inside one account is allowed.
  • Copying trade ideas from signals, communities, social media or research.
  • Account sharing, or several accounts from one household, device or IP address. Running more than one evaluation or funded account in your own name is allowed, as long as the funded capital totals no more than $200,000.
  • Exploiting price or platform errors, latency, or insider information.
  • Strategies that would be hard to repeat live, such as positions so large that open profit and loss swings wildly.
  • Passing with one approach and switching once funded, or using a system sold specifically to pass evaluations.

Getting paid: how does Breakout pay out?

Breakout’s policy is to pay on demand, any day of the week, with a $50 minimum after the split. The steps are the same on every funded account:

  • Close all positions first. You cannot request a payout with a trade open.
  • The amount leaves your balance immediately, and you can keep trading while it is processed.
  • Payward Oceanic, Ltd approves the request, which can take 12 to 24 hours, though Breakout says it is usually quicker.
  • You then give a USDC wallet address on the Ethereum (ERC-20) network, the only payout method. There is no bank option.
  • Payouts are not insured or guaranteed, and nothing adjusts for USDC price moves between request and arrival.
  • A breached account cannot be paid.

What can end your account

These rules can end a Breakout account. Each comes from Breakout’s own help center:

  • Reaching the daily loss limit or the maximum drawdown. All positions close and the account is disabled, with no refund and no reset.
  • Any banned practice listed above.
  • Hedging across accounts: a confirmed case ends every linked account, forfeits profits and brings a permanent ban. A first accidental case may get a warning.
  • Breaking the Funded Trader Agreement once funded, which is not published before you pass.
  • Hiding your location with a VPN. VPNs are allowed otherwise, but the ID check must be done with it off.

Who can join

Breakout’s help center lists the places it does not serve, and the funded-stage company uses the same list:

  • Excluded: Afghanistan, Belarus, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Central African Republic, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Nicaragua, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, and the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
  • Breakout’s wording covers residents and people located there. Payward Oceanic, Ltd’s covers anyone “from or currently in” those places, so ask support if your citizenship differs from where you live.
  • The terms add a sanctions test: you confirm you are not on the EU, UK or US sanctions lists.

Clause 1 is where that test lives, and it is worth reading for what it does not do:

The Service is offered and available to users who are at least eighteen (18) years old. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that … (iv) you are not a Prohibited Person. A “Prohibited Person” is any person or entity that is (a) the subject of any economic or trade sanctions administered or enforced by any governmental authority […]; (b) located, a resident of or organized in any jurisdiction or territory that is the subject of comprehensive country-wide or regional economic sanctions or has been designated as “terrorist supporting” by the United Nations or the governmental authority of the European Union, United Kingdom, or the United States; or (c) owned or controlled by such persons or […]

The clause names no countries. It makes the buyer warrant their own sanctions status instead, so a trader checking whether they are eligible is told to work it out themselves. The country list above comes from the help center, not from the contract.

  • You must be 18 or over. No ID check is needed to buy an evaluation, only to get funded.
  • You need to be able to receive USDC, since no other payout route exists.

Who you are dealing with

You buy from one company and, if you pass, contract with another. The table shows who does what.

CompanyRoleWhere

Payward Oceanic, LtdRuns the funded account and approves payoutsBritish Virgin Islands
  • Breakout says it has been acquired by Kraken, on a dedicated page, and its footer lists it alongside other Payward brands. Payward is Kraken’s parent. No date or deal terms are published.
  • The two companies say they are separate, each with its own terms. Payward Oceanic, Ltd does not hold trader funds.
  • Breakout discloses a conflict of its own: it earns a fee each time a trader fails and buys again.
  • Disputes go to binding arbitration under Florida law, with a class-action waiver and no opt-out. Either side must first send a written notice and try to settle for sixty days. Any in-person hearing is held in Miami. Disputes over Breakout’s intellectual property, and the actions its section D lists, sit outside arbitration as Excluded Disputes. Small claims are also carved out: either side “may bring qualifying claim of Disputes (but not Excluded Disputes) in small claims court of competent jurisdiction.”

Section 19 opens in capitals, and the heading carries the firm’s own misspelling of “waiver”:

19. ARBITRATION AND CLASS ACTION WAVIER PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY – IT MAY SIGNIFICANTLY AFFECT YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING YOUR RIGHT TO FILE A LAWSUIT IN COURT AND TO HAVE A JURY HEAR YOUR CLAIMS. IT CONTAINS PROCEDURES FOR MANDATORY BINDING ARBITRATION AND A CLASS ACTION WAIVER. A. First – Try To Resolve Disputes and Excluded Disputes. If any controversy, allegation, or claim arises out of or relates to the Service, the Content, your User Content, these Terms of Use, or any Additional Terms … then you and we agree to send a written notice to the other providing a reasonable description of the Dispute or Excluded Dispute, along with a proposed resolution of it.

Set that against the entry price. Individual arbitration on a $20 evaluation costs more than the amount in dispute, which is the practical effect of removing the group route.

The sixty days are not a way out. They are a negotiation window that opens when either side sends a written notice, and arbitration becomes mandatory once it runs out:

B. Binding Arbitration. If we cannot resolve a Dispute as set forth in Section 18.A (or agree to arbitration in writing with respect to an Excluded Dispute) within sixty (60) days of receipt of the notice, then ANY AND ALL DISPUTES ARISING BETWEEN YOU AND BREAKOUT […] MUST BE RESOLVED BY FINAL AND BINDING ARBITRATION. […] BY AGREEING TO ARBITRATE, EACH PARTY IS GIVING UP ITS RIGHT TO GO TO COURT AND HAVE ANY DISPUTE HEARD BY A JUDGE OR JURY.

Nothing in the Terms lets a trader decline arbitration. The section is headed 19 but refers to its own parts as 18.A onward, which is the firm’s own numbering error rather than a second clause.

Why this grade

Breakout’s rules are unusually plain. The drawdowns are static, there is no consistency rule on any account, there is no deadline, and you can take a payout from $50 whenever you have nothing open. Its grade is held back by what happens if you ever need to argue with it.

Any claim has to go to individual arbitration. Not to a court, and not together with other traders who might have the same complaint. Entry starts at $20, and arbitration costs many times that. Small claims court is the one exception the contract keeps open, and for anything larger the cost of arbitrating exceeds what is in dispute.

There is also no refund. If you buy the wrong plan, or find you cannot use it, the contract gives you no route to your money back, and a breached evaluation cannot be reset.

Its payout process and its support are both unproven, and if either went wrong, individual arbitration is the only route its contract leaves you for anything beyond small claims.

Accurate?

Our verdict

Breakout keeps its rules short and its drawdown static, and says it pays on demand in USDC, but the split you pick at checkout is permanent, funding comes from a separate offshore company, and funded capital stops at $200,000.

Best for

  • Crypto traders who already use a USDC wallet.
  • Traders who want a fixed floor that does not trail profits, and no time limit.
  • Traders who hold through weekends and news.

Avoid if

  • You need payouts to a bank account.
  • You want to read the funded-stage agreement before paying.
  • You copy signals or run several accounts from one household or device.

Questions traders ask

Can I still choose DXtrade?

Not as a new buyer. Breakout no longer sells DXtrade accounts, so new evaluations run on the Breakout Terminal. Existing DXtrade accounts keep trading, passing and requesting payouts, but they cannot be moved to the Breakout Terminal.

Can I get a refund?

No. Breakout says evaluation fees are non-refundable, and a breached account gets neither a refund nor a reset. Its terms allow an exception only through a separate agreement with the firm, which a normal checkout purchase does not give you.

Can I take Breakout to court?

Generally no. Once a sixty-day attempt to settle after a written notice has failed, the Terms require binding arbitration on an individual basis under Florida law, and they waive class actions. There is no opt-out. Disputes over Breakout’s intellectual property, and the actions its section D lists, sit outside arbitration as Excluded Disputes. Small claims are the exception: the Terms let either side bring a qualifying claim in small claims court.

Which countries are excluded?

Breakout’s help center lists them: Afghanistan, Belarus, Burma (Myanmar), Cambodia, Central African Republic, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Nicaragua, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, and the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine. The terms also require that you are not on a sanctions list.

Is the funded account real or simulated?

Simulated. Breakout’s help center says the funded account trades simulated capital. Payward Oceanic, Ltd decides whether to copy a funded trader’s ideas into its own trading, and the trader cannot see which it chooses.

Facts checked: 13 August to 17 September 2026. No payout independently verified.
